We are thrilled to announce that H.E.N.S. has just held its first annual “Precarious Worker Mixer”! It was a truly moisturizing afternoon of discussion! We were fortunate to have Ross Perlin, author of Intern Nation, as well as Deborah Marcuse, employment lawyer and member of the H.E.N.S. legal squad. They were joined by Elizabeth Wagoner who is working on a class action lawsuit brought by unpaid interns against Fox Searchlight Pictures, and Eric Dirnbach, a union activist and service worker organizer. The discussion was a great chance all of us to hone manicuring strategy and for audience members to workshop specific cases. At H.E.N.S. we know that removing the callouses of workplace exploitation is an arduous process best undertaken with proper understanding of tools.
